Timeline
FinnGen study is a 10-year project that started in August 2017 and is divided into two phases, FinnGen 1 (years 1-3) and FinnGen 2 (years 4-6). During these six years, the biobank samples are collected and genotyped. FinnGen produces new datasets every 6 months.
FinnGen is a growing project, aiming at 500,000 individuals in 2023. The table below shows the release schedule and sample sizes of the past and upcoming data freezes:
