How we collaborate
FinnGen is based on a wide public-private partnership. Academic researchers outside this partnership, interested in working with the FinnGen project resource, are welcome to fill in our collaboration form.

Collaboration models
Current academic and industry partners:
- Browse/download up-to-date core project analysis results
- Access individual-level data for custom analyses (partner instructions here)
- Join our internal channels and user meetings to keep up-to-date with the latest developments
Global genomics community:
- Extensive results and tools are made public for everyone to use (read more about accessing summary level results here)
- To request collaboration or access beyond what is publicly available, or to engage with FinnGen researchers working in specific areas, please fill in our collaboration form
- Please note that we cannot commit to all requests, and collaboration opportunities depend on the nature of the suggested project and available analysis resources in the project.
New industry partners:
The consortium is open to new partners. Our Steering Committee approves new partners and decides on the use of the additional funding to support our research goals.
Good to know:
Please note that FinnGen as a research project is granted use of national healthcare data and biospecimens according to national and European regulations (GDPR), which preclude the research project from distributing individual level data. However, any researcher can apply for the health register data from the Finnish Data Authority Findata and for all FinnGen individual-level genotype data (and other profiling data) generated by the project from Finnish biobanks via the Fingenious portal hosted by the Finnish Biobank Cooperative FINBB.
